A new Asian Business Aviation Association (AsBAA) board is now in office, following the election of two new Vice Chairman, Helena Lang and Kevin Wu, the re-election of Chairman Jean-Noel Robert to ensure continuity, and the election of Saira Kanchwala and Ekavaj Amornvivat as Executive Committee members1.
All were nominated at the AsBAA annual general meeting held at the Asian Business Aviation Conference and Exhibition (ABACE) in Shanghai, which was co-organized by AsBAA and the National Business Aviation Association (NBAA), under the patronage of the International Business Aviation Council (IBAC) .
Following a year of multiple actions and achievements such as the creation of Operators committees (Hong-Kong, Mainland China and South East Asia), as well as managed to federate the major Aircraft manufacturer to act collectively, in particular in respect of events organized in the region, the board decided to consolidate initiatives under way and to focus on three main priorities.
First, reinforcing the role of AsBAA as the sole representative of business aviation in the Asian region, including China. Secondly, establishing permanent representation in China through the opening of an office and, thirdly, continuing to raise awareness about the benefits of business aviation to country economies.
The new Board of Directors is grateful to the members who put their trust in them to represent the association. It also thanks everyone that contributed to actions and results achieved in 2011, and looks forward to continuing to champion the cause of Business Aviation in Asia in the coming year.
